Christmas in Cornwall: celebrate at Eden
If you're fed up of hibernating at home this winter, celebrate with us at our Time of Gifts winter festival. We've got plenty of activities and spectacular events that will give warmth and light to the long, cold winter nights ahead.
Whether you're local or coming on holiday to spend Christmas in Cornwall, come to Eden to add a sparkle to your winter. On many days during November and December 2011 we'll be open later into the evening, and you'll be able to enjoy a range of festive treats, from lantern parades and live music to exhibitions and ice skating.
Winter festival activities
Lantern parades, live music and storytelling
On our late-opening evenings, our winter festival will be in full swing: the festivities will begin at 5.45pm and feature activities, live music and storytelling. The highlight of these evenings will be our spectacular lantern parade at 8.45pm – come and take part in the magical procession!

Cornish choirs
Christmas in Cornwall wouldn't be the same without local choirs adding some festive atmosphere with their beautiful singing. They're always a highlight of our winter festival at Eden, and this year, the choirs will be performing on each of our late nights (see above), and on Sundays between 25 November and 30 December.
Christmas making and baking workshops at The Hive
Come and join in with our preparations for Xmas. Learn how to make gingerbread, add some beautiful festive decoration, hand-make a gift box for your delicious festive treats – and more.

Ice skating
Our magical ice rink is back with a new, glacial theme for winter 2011/12. In addition to our general skate sessions, there are special skating sessions for all ages and abilities, so come on down and get your skates on! Bring the kids for a Christmas holiday treat!

Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year
Browse the stunning images in this exhibition, which shine a spotlight on some of the rarely seen wonders of the natural world. Co-owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine, the exhibition showcases 100 winning and commended entries to one of the most prestigious competitions of its kind.

Christmas party nights
Our Christmas parties are held in The Gallery, overlooking the beautifully lit Biomes. They include a three-course meal and entertainment for £27.50 per person.
