Circus skills are easy-trapezey for Newquay school, Monday July 18

Children at Mawgan-in-Pydar Primary plan to get the week off to a flying start with a lesson from Nofit State circus on Monday, July 18.

The performers, who are currently preparing for their new show Labyrinth at the Eden Project, will spend the morning sharing some of their circus secrets with children from Years 3 and 4.

After the Nofit State team demonstrate some of their extraordinary expertise, the children will be able to have a go at skills such as plate-spinning, stilt-walking, juggling and Diablo.

The circus skills workshop was won by Mawgan-in-Pydar school in a competition set up by Eden as part of their spectacular season of circus. While putting the finishing touches to Labyrinth, the Nofit State team will also beholding specialsessions foryouth groups and circus performers in the region.

Labyrinth, which will run for 21 nights between July 29 and August 29, is a daring new show that fuses aerial acrobatics and traditional circus skills with live music and dance. The circus theme continues during Eden’s Festival of Play with circus workshops, impromptu displays, daring feats and late night opening throughout the summer holidays.
