Fast-paced and frenzied jazz at the Eden Cafe

The Eden Café is preparing for a night of jaunty gypsy jazz and Eastern-European swing with Maniere des Bohémiens on Friday October 28.

Inspired by the likes of Django Reinhardt and Duke Ellington, Maniere des Bohémiens deliver a heady mixture of violins, accordions and guitar that transports the audience to the dark and alluring cafés and alleyways of bohemian Paris.

The six-piece, originally formed in 2009 by two sets of brothers, have been spreading their exhilarating tunes around the UK to critical acclaim. They have been included on Tom Robinson’s ‘Introducing’ show on BBC Radio 6 along with BBC Radio Nottingham’s new music show ‘The Beat’.

Dan Ball, Eden Café Manager, said: “Their live sets are almost entirely improvised, so I can’t wait to see what Maniere des Bohémiens have in store for the Eden Café.

"The band completes what has been a brilliant month of live music at the café and we’re looking forward to continuing the great atmosphere throughout the rest of the year.”

The gig takes place from 8pm until midnight. Tickets are available from the café beforehand for a concessionary rate of £2.50 and on the door at full price at £3.50.

There will be a selection of local beverages, along with bread and dips and the new autumn chickpea & pumpkin curry, which are all available until 9:30pm.
