‘Glass Guitarist’ comes to the Eden Café

Ned Evett, a musician who plays a glass-necked guitar, is bringing his original sound to the Eden Café on Friday October 14.

Ned, who hails from the US, trained to be a classical guitarist before pursuing his love of songwriting and the electric guitar.

After spending several years in various cover bands, he found inspiration for a new type of sound when he smashed his guitar on-stage and built his first fretless guitar from the remains. Ned then developed the idea, leading to the use of aluminium fingerboards and glass-necked guitars.

Ned’s songs range from instrumental masterpieces to hard-rocking blues and everything in-between. Drawn from experiences and wise observations on the world, he covers the spectrum of love, loss, redemption and thoughts on the future with his mesmerising voice.

Dan Ball, Eden Café Manager, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Ned to the Café. What better way to start the weekend than with original music, local food and a great atmosphere.”

The gig takes place from 8pm until midnight. Tickets are available from the Café beforehand for a concessionary rate of £2.50 and on the door at full price at £3.

Along with a selection of local beverages, there will be bread and dips and Provencal ragout, which are available until 9:30pm.
