Green Build Cornwall Foundation at Eden Project

Cornwall Sustainable Building Trust launched their Green Build Cornwall Foundation last Wednesday evening with over 100 green build specialists and community members coming together to celebrate the start of the Green Build Cornwall Foundation.

Run by the Cornwall Sustainable Building Trust, The Green Build Cornwall Foundation will be located at The Eden Project bringing together green build specialists from the charity as well as specialists from commercial and academic spheres.

The space is being designed and built as a sustainable building exercise and will demonstrate tangibly what can and is being done in Cornwall to improve the sustainability of construction in the region and beyond. It will be University monitored and used for training, awareness raising and sharing of best practice

The Project Launch Evening was opened by Tim Smit, who told the audience of green build specialists,  “This will sharpen up your game – the stuff you are producing will be put in front of so many people – you will need to make it good.”

Charlie Luxton, TV Architect, gave a talk on sustainable building and Paul Bright, CEO of CSBT, outlined the project and invited the audience to join in the collaboration, which will culminate in a building of new and exciting innovations within the green building industry.  Paul says,  “Last week’s launch of the Green Build Cornwall Foundation Project was an outstanding success.  We are looking forward to some interesting new collaborations to make this a fantastic Centre for Green Building in Cornwall.  Thanks to everybody who turned up and enthusiastically offered their services to the project, and to Charlie Luxton for a brilliant presentation.”
