Eden’s Arts Café celebrates second birthday with The Correspondents

August 17, 2010

The Eden Project’s acclaimed monthly Arts Café night will be throwing its second birthday bash on Friday September 3 with a headline performance by The Correspondents.

London-based DJ and MC duo The Correspondents fuse swing, hip-hop, electro and drum ‘n’ bass with vintage samples and lyrically-dextrous rhymes.

MC Mr Bruce and DJ Mr Chuckles got together in 2007 having returned to London after finishing university. They have become firm festival favourites, having played at Glastonbury, Bestival and Green Man among many others.

Complementing this, Arts Café’s resident DJ’s Jelly Jazz will be playing funk, soul, jazzy breaks, Latino and swing throughout the night.

Arts Café will also be hosting 30 climate change advocates from across Europe who are involved in the British Council’s Challenge Europe programme. The project brings together ambitious young people who want to make a lasting impact on climate change.

The advocates will be presenting stories and showing photos from their home countries. Their week long visit at Eden is part of Eden’s Climate Revolution programme.

Eden’s events manager Beth Lewitt said: “What better way to celebrate our second birthday than with The Correspondents, one of the best acts on the live music circuit right now. We’ve had an amazing two years of showcasing live music and arts and we’re looking forward to Arts Café getting better and better as we have many fab plans in the pipeline!”

Arts Café runs from 7pm to 12.30am in Eden’s Core building. Admission is £8 per person including a free drink if you book in advance. People who bring a party of 10 or more guests get free entry for themselves. Tickets are available from the Eden box office on 01726 811972 or through www.edenproject.com.
