Free Eden weekend for St. Austell area residents

November 3, 2010

The Eden Project is inviting St. Austell area residents to get their skates on and take advantage of free entry to the site this weekend.

From Friday to Sunday, November 5 to 7, anyone who has St. Austell in their home address can visit Eden for free.

And if they want to come back again for an unlimited number of times over the next year, all they have to do is pay £5 to upgrade to an annual pass.

The special winter bargains provide the perfect opportunity for local visitors to try out Eden’s ice rink, which has a new look this year taking inspiration from the area’s mining heritage and the Cornish Alps. Skate sessions are £5 for a 40 minute slot.

For those who want to perfect their pirouettes, skating lessons start this Saturday morning with top coaches including former UK men’s skating champion Clive Shorten and ex-Canadian international skater Shelly Clarke.

To book a skating session or lesson, ring Eden’s Box Office 01726 811972.

Elizabeth Steel, Eden’s Marketing Manager, said: “Eden wouldn’t be the success it is without the invaluable support of our local friends. That’s why we run offers for locals from time to time and this weekend we’d like to invite everyone in St. Austell to experience our new ice rink and see how we’ve grown since their last visit. Come along and visit with your family for free this weekend.”

On Friday and Saturday evenings throughout November, Eden will also be challenging visitors to see the rainforest by night. Heart of Darkness, which is included in the price of admission, includes story-telling and authentic sounds of the jungle.

Visitors who would like to take up the free weekend offer just need to bring some proof of residency in the St. Austell area (for example a utility bill) and photographic ID.

For more information, ticket prices and full opening times during winter, visit www.edenproject.com or ring the Box Office on 01726 811972.
